The transmission line proposed would power the four data center substations in the southern “Phase I” of this two phase project. The permitting process is a very fast “review lite” based on the 2024 legislation that gutted the routing and siting laws and repealed all but three of the rules. Because it’s so fast, with only nominal opportunity for public input, it’s VERY important to show up, to speak up, and to weigh in during the hearings and comment period – in person or in writing – and preferably both. Vocal presence matters.
What’s effective? This is a routing docket for this specific transmission line, which means you will need to look at the application to know what they’re wanting to do. For the most part, general data center issues aren’t relevant. The application has a LOT of information. Pick an issue from the application's table of contents that interests you, bite off a small piece, and narrowly focus on that.
We’ll go over some specifics, with comment form format to make it easier to trigger some original thoughts. Originality counts, don’t use cut & paste copied comments!
