Do residents of Pine Island city and nearby townships support the proposal to build a hyper scale data center in Pine Island?

The majority answer is: No.

Despite local government and city support of the proposed hyperscale data center in Pine Island, respondents’ opinions are loud and clear: the majority are opposed.

Where do we go from here?
The research suggests, not very far.​

“Most people, when directly confronted by evidence that they are wrong, do not change their point of view or course of action but justify it even more tenaciously. Even irrefutable evidence is rarely enough to pierce the mental armor of self-justification.”

At least not locally. But nationwide, surveys and polls are showing the same results: the mood on data centers has shifted.

There are places where data centers are welcomed.
